Amazon is rolling out a new shipping setting called Ship By Region which will list seller-fulfilled items as Prime Eligible when the customer is within the same 2-day delivery region as the seller.
The move shows that Amazon is moving quickly to unlock added savings for items fulfilled by local marketplace sellers -- a tactic Jet.com leverages to compete with Amazon on price. This will strengthen the value of Amazon Prime, as it makes available a greater selection of products for Prime customers located near the marketplace seller.
The program is currently available to a limited number of Amazon sellers who have demonstrated exceptional fulfillment performance. We're working with our high volume customers to implement this new and exciting setting.
