Amazon Seller Central Security: How to Enable 2-Step Authentication

Amazon marketplace seller accounts are the subject of increased hacking attempts. From what we understand, this involves the changing bank account settings and discounting of pricing to liquidate inventory.

If you have not done so already, please take a few minutes to update your password and implement 2-step authentication on your Seller Central account:

  1. In Seller Central => click Settings and select Login Settings
  2. Click Edit in the Password row to change your password to something more secure (use special characters or a [password generator (, avoid common words and personal names and dates)
  3. Click Edit in the Advanced Security Settings row which takes you to this webpage to implement 2-step verification.
