Every multichannel seller is at risk of burning out. With every new sales channel, even the simplest task of editing your listings gets exponentially harder.

One simple tweak to your product title (as an example) can require logging into multiple channels one at a time and re-entering the same data by hand. Or, even if you choose to use a listing automation software, it’s hard to find a platform where you’re not constantly reconfiguring templates or formatting data for each channel.

Fortunately, Zentail’s Catalog Edit is here to change that. With Catalog Edit, you can manage your multichannel catalog with ease, whether you’re looking to create a new listing, edit an existing product or manage your variations.

Easily Edit Your Variation Listings from One Screen

Catalog Edit is available for every Zentail user and is accessible through the Catalog page. By clicking on a SKU, you’ll see an option to edit the SKU. Once clicking “edit,” you’ll automatically be sent to the Catalog Edit screen, where you can input various details about your product.

Catalog Edit introduces a unique way to organize and view any given listing. It takes into consideration how most of your SKUs are likely part of a larger product group, which offers your items in various colors and sizes.

Rather than having to find and edit each variation one by one, you can see all of your grouped SKUs in one place. At the very top, you can manage your listing content and attributes that are shared by all of your variants—like your product category, description and images. Catalog Edit then offers a separate space to customize details on the SKU level.

For example, say that you sell a dog crate on Amazon in three different sizes: small, medium and large. From Catalog Edit, you can enter a title (e.g., “Portable Dog Crate for Small, Medium & Large Dogs with Tray and Handle”) and description that’s shared by all of your variants.

However, you can assign different ASINs and shipping details (package size, weight, etc.) per crate, so customers aren’t confused by the exact dimensions of a particular option that they select. If you also sell your crate on Walmart or eBay, then those SKU-specific details can help you calculate the right shipping price, too.

There's more that happens behind the scenes from a technical standpoint, which is why many multichannel tools today struggle to offer a smooth experience. While marketplaces view variation listings as a collection of standalone products (which can be sold together or separately), shopping carts like Shopify view them as one, intrinsically tied product. This affects how deeply you can customize each variant.

Zentail’s Catalog Edit bears all this in mind and delivers the easiest-to-use interface for managing product groups across multiple channels.

Enrich Your Product Listings with Advanced Attributes

By now, you probably know that in order to optimize your listings for marketplace SEO, you need to offer more than the basic product details required to successfully publish a listing.

For example, if you sell a lunch box, most customers will want to know what material it’s made out of. “Material” isn’t a required attribute on every marketplace, but—as confirmed by Walmart—it can help to build confidence in your brand and ensure that your lunch box appears on filtered category pages.

To help you enrich your listings with the right data, Catalog Edit includes a section called “Listing Quality Attributes.” This section is fueled by SMART Types, Zentail’s revolutionary tech for auto-categorizing your listings and translating your product data to each ecommerce marketplace (SMART Types is essentially the engine that allows you to list to multiple channels instantly with a simple click of a button).

Within Catalog Edit, you can pick a SMART Type (aka, product category) for your product or view the one that Zentail has already assigned to it. The “Listing Quality Attributes” section will automatically show recommended fields for your product category. It’ll tell you whether you should consider adding display features (for electronics), ingredients (for cosmetics), shoe closure types (for women’s heels) and/or other details to increase your odds of winning a sale.

The goal is to ignite a positive listing quality flywheel. Aside from boosting your rankings, advanced attributes will help you to paint a clearer picture of your products, resulting in more accurate customer expectations, fewer returns and more positive reviews.

Grow Your Catalog Without Adding to Your Stress

At the end of the day, you deserve a break. As your business grows and your catalog expands, you shouldn’t be breaking your back to complete menial tasks like listing. You should be able to offload that burden and use your time more strategically.

Towards that end, Catalog Edit pairs nicely with Zentail’s other listing automation tools. Zentail’s full suite of tools includes business rules, bulk editing, price management and more.

Our Listing Status Dashboard is particularly helpful in ensuring that all of your listings are working as they should. From the dashboard, you can check when a product is successfully published, needs to be set to list or is encountering an error that is preventing it from showing on any of your sales channels.
