Common Questions about FBA to Jet.com Multichannel Fulfillment

Is Zentail an automated solution or will I have to manually enter orders into Seller Central?

This is a fully automated solution coordinated between Jet.com and Amazon using the API available for each channel. Here's how it works:

  1. Zentail automatically acknowledges your Jet.com orders every 15 minutes. Jet.com orders flow into the Orders section of your Zentail account.
  2. Zentail automatically submits fulfillment orders to your Seller Central account and receives confirmation of order acceptance from FBA.
  3. Zentail sends updated inventory values to all of your connected channels to account for changes in inventory related to these orders.
  4. As soon as Amazon ships each order, Zentail pulls in the carrier, service level, tracking number and shipment cost. This gives you full visibility into your profits for the order and allows us to provide you with multichannel analytics.
  5. Zentail sends the tracking info into your Jet.com Partner Portal and the order is considered complete.

How does Zentail handle partial shipments?

If multiple units are shipping from FBA in multiple packages (i.e. from separate Amazon fulfillment centers), Zentail will automatically confirm with Jet.com which of the units associated with an order have shipped until all units are confirmed as shipped.

How often does Zentail update inventory from FBA and how often does Zentail send inventory updates to Jet.com?

We pull in inventory updates every 15 minutes from FBA and every 15 minutes we send these updated quantities to Jet.com.

Can I connect multiple Amazon accounts to my Jet.com account?

Yes, there is no limit to the number of Amazon account you have in your Zentail account. If you use FBA for more than one Amazon account, you can simply create an FBA warehouse in Zentail for each and assign it to a specific Jet Fulfillment Node which you will create in your Jet Partner Portal for each warehouse.

Will Amazon ship my multichannel orders in un-branded packaging?

As of September 1, 2016, Amazon has discontinued their "Brand Neutral Packaging". This means all FBA Multi-Channel orders are shipped in Amazon-branded packaging. This is obviously not ideal since it causes confusion and may be in conflict with the terms and conditions of other marketplace channels such as Walmart Marketplace.

What are the costs to use Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment?

Since FBA Multi-Channel is for orders that do not occur on Amazon, you are not charged Amazon's marketplace commission. You are only charged according to the schedule below:

FBA Multichannel Pricing Example

FBA Multi-Channel pricing is - in most cases -
slightly more expensive than our 3PL Partners.

I'm a low-margin seller, will I be competitive on Jet.com if I use FBA for fulfillment?

Jet.com is an extremely competitive marketplace. Depending on product dimensions, FBA Multichannel fulfillment is not always the most cost-effective way to ship products. This is especially true for products that ship First Class and are under 1 pound (16 ounces).

Using FBA for Multichannel Fulfillment is not for everyone. We've spoken with many merchants - particularly those involved in highly competitive, low margin product lines - that are not willing to pay the increased handling fees associated with Amazon's Multichannel Fulfillment offering. However, if you're a brand owner working with higher margins, and your primary channel is Amazon, the convenience of FBA Multichannel can certainly represent a great opportunity for your business as you expand to additional channels.
